Jonathan Cohen makes his debut conducting Les Violons du Roy this week and next, on an extensive European tour. Their programme includes works by Rigel, Haydn, Mozart, Bach and CPE Bach and they will be joined by pianist Alexandre Tharaud for Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.9 K.271 and Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D major. The tour includes performances in Bilbao, Perpignan, Bordeaux, Merignac, Toulouse, Versailles, Frankfurt, Essen, Ljubljana, Cologne and Paris.
Other forthcoming engagements for Jonathan include Budapest Festival Orchestra at the beginning of November to include pieces by Locatelli, Telemann, Leclair and Handel’s Apollo e Dafne with Anna Lucia Richter and Nathan Berg. He is then in the studio with Arcangelo before appearances with NDR Hannover (Handel Dixit Dominus and Mozart’s Requiem), Västerås Sinfonietta (Bach Christmas Oratorio) and Zurich Chamber Orchestra (Handel, Bach, Vivaldi) in December.
