It’s a busy month of recording for pianists, Sunwook Kim joined forces once again with Seoul Philharmonic and Myun-Whun Chung this time for Korean composer Unsuk Chin’s Piano Concerto; Yundi begins recording with the Berlin Philharmonic and Daniel Harding – Beethoven’s Piano Concerto no. 5 paired with Schumann’s Fantasie in C, op.17 (Deutsche Grammophon / Mercury Classics).
 
Matthew Rose has been in Aldeburgh this week recording Schubert’s Schwanengesang with Malcolm Martineau for Stone Records.
 
Jonathan Cohen and his ensemble Arcangelo have been recording with Samuel Boden and Stéphane Degout works by Charpentier (Leçons de Ténèbres du Mercredi Saint), Couperin (Le Parnasse ou l’Apothéose de Corelli & Lully) and Buxtehude (Trio Sonatas) for Hyperion.
