Robin Leggate

For many years a member of the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, Robin Leggate's repertoire has ranged from the Mozart lyric tenor roles to Mime in 'Das Rheingold', Peter Quint, Cassio and Caius in 'Falstaff'. Abroad he has sung at the Salzburg Festival, Paris Opera, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Paris Châtelet, as well as in Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Brussels and Lisbon. He sang his first Herod in 'Salome' in South Africa, Strauss' 'Die Liebe der Danae' at Garsington, Captain Vere in 'Billy Budd' for the Flanders Opera, Siegmund in concert performances of 'The Ring' in Ireland and Birmingham, and Herod for Welsh National Opera. Recent engagements include 'Khovanschina' in Brussels, Barcelona and for English National Opera, Boesman's 'Wintermärchen' with La Monnaie in Barcelona, both Peter Quint and Aschenbach for Chicago Opera Theater, both Captain Vere and Loge in Washington and Vere in Pittsburg.

His current engagements include the Salzburg Festival, La Scala, Milan, the Royal Opera, Covent Garden and the Metropolitan Opera, New York.
