Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos

Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos is one of the world's leading and most respected conductors.

In Europe he is Permanent Conductor of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, and has been Principal Conductor of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Bilbao Orchestra, Spanish National Orchestra and Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra. Since 2001 he has been Principal Conductor of the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI in Torino.

Maestro Frühbeck de Burgos has been Guest Conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic and was Generalmusikdirektor of the Deutsche Oper Berlin between 1992 and 1997.

In the USA and Canada he has been Principal Conductor of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and Guest Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra Washington. He has conducted the Philadelphia Orchestra and opened the Boston Symphony Orchestra's 2002/3 season.

Maestro Frühbeck de Burgos has made more than one hundred recordings for a number of record companies, including EMI, DG and Decca, and has received many awards, including the Grand Cross of Civil Merit from the German Federal Republic in 2001.
