Patrizia Ciofi
Following her sensational debut at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino as Amina in 'La Sonnambula', Patrizia Ciofi is in demand with major opera houses and orchestras around the world. Her career has taken her to the Martina Franca Festival, Zurich Opera, La Scala, Covent Garden, Paris Opera, Rossini Opera Festival, Lyric Opera of Chicago in a variety of repertoire that focuses on the bel canto, baroque as well as many of the Mozart and French works. She has performed with many important conductors such as Bruno Campanella, James Colon, René Jacobs, Riccardo Muti, Seiji Ozawa, Zubin Mehta, Antonio Pappano, Evelino Pidò, Marcello Viotti, to name but a few.
Patrizia Ciofi’s 2006/07 season saw her debut with the New York Philharmonic in performances of L’Enfant et les Sortileges conducted by Lorin Maazel as well as performances of Lucia di Lammermoor at the Choregies d’Orange and Gran Teatre del Liceu. For the remainder of the season her engagements included Palmide in Il crociato in Egitto at the Fenice in Venice, Leyla in Les Pecheurs de Perles in Avignon, title role in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Opera de Marseille, Norina in Don Pasquale at the Geneva Opera, Adelaide in Rossini’s rarely performed opera Adelaide di Borgogna in La Coruna, Gilda in Rigoletto at Covent Garden and a concert of Mozart arias at the Athens Megaron conducted by Christopher Hogwood.
The 2007/08 season started with Norina in Don Pasquale at the Coruna Festival in Spain and continues with a concert performance of La Traviata in Moscow, a concert performance and recording of Bellini’s La Straniera at the Royal Festival Hall in London with Opera Rara, a recording with Juan Diego Florez for Decca Records, Amenaide in Tancredi at the Teatro Real Madrid, Gilda in Rigoletto at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Palmide in Il crociato in Egitto at the Teatro de Sao Carlos in Lisbon, title role in Maria Stuarda at the Opera Royal de Wallonie, Elvira in I Puritani at the Coruna Festival and Monteverdi Vespers with the Combattimento Consort at the Festival de Saint Denis.
