Northern Sinfonia

Northern Sinfonia is based at The Sage Gateshead, the new home for music and musical discovery on the south bank of the River Tyne. The award winning chamber orchestra performs well over 100 concerts a year across the UK and Europe. With the appointment of Thomas Zehetmair as music director in 2002, the Sinfonia has boosted its international reputation, with a flexibility of approach over a wide range or repertoire. The orchestra boasts a specialist education team who are discovering new ways to unlock the full range of orchestra repertoire for a new generation of concert-goers.
