Morten Frank Larsen

The Danish baritone has close associations with the Wiener Staatsoper and the Deutsche Oper Berlin. He has appeared with the Bayerische Staatsoper Munich (Jokanaan in Salome), Deutsche Oper Berlin (Nathan in Sophie’s Choice and Jokanaan), Teatro Comunale di Bologna (Heerufer in Lohengrin), Teatro Massimo Palermo (Jokanaan), Salzburg (Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro) and most recently Mandryka (Arabella) at both the Wiener Staatsoper and the Opernhaus Zürich.

This season he sings Mahler Symphony Nr. 8 in Dresden and Bucharest with Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, “Salome” at the Bayerische Staatsoper with Kent Nagano, “Die Fledermaus”, “I Pagliacci” and “Werther” at the Wiener Staatsoper and Volksoper, and “Szenen aus dem Leben der Heiligen Johanna“ von Walter Braunfels at the Deutsche Berlin.

His recording of Mandryka in Arabella alongside Renee Fleming in the title role has just been released on DVD for Decca.
