Miah Persson

Swedish soprano Miah Persson is in great demand with the major opera houses and orchestras of the world. She has appeared at the Salzburg Festival, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Netherlands Opera, San Francisco Opera, Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, Monnaie, Frankfurt Opera, Wiener Staatsoper and Paris Opera in roles that include Sophie ('Der Rosenkavalier'), Fiordiligi ('Cosi fan tutte'), Zerlina ('Don Giovanni'), Susanna ('Le Nozze di Figaro'), Sifare ('Mitridate') and Pamina ('Die Zauberflöte'). In concert Miah Persson has appeared at the BBC Proms, Deutsche Symphonie Orchester Berlin, Budapest Festival Orchestra and Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Conductors with whom she has performed include Sir Charles Mackerras, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Daniel Barenboim, Ivor Bolton, Pierre Boulez, Ivan Fischer, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Semyon Bychkov, Philippe Herreweghe, Rene Jacobs and Marc Minkowski.

Miah Persson's operatic engagements in the 2008/09 season include her return to Covent Garden for Zerlina; debuts at the Theater an der Wien as Euridice in Gluck's 'Orfeo ed Euridice' and at the Liceu, Barcelona in the title role of Poppea; and Fiordiligi in 'Cosi fan tutte' at the Salzburg Festival. In concert, she will perform Mahler 2 with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Bernard Haitink and Pulcinella with the Musiciens du Louvre conducted by Marc Minkowski. Her recital engagements include appearances at the Frankfurt Opera and London's Wigmore Hall.
