Malin Christensson

Malin Christensson

Born in Sweden, soprano Malin Christensson studied at the Royal College of Music and at the Benjamin Britten International Opera School.

In opera, her recent engagements have included Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) with Daniel Harding at the Aix-en-Provence Festival; Papagena (Die Zauberflöte) at the Vienna Festival, also with Harding; her debut at the Glyndebourne Festival as Miss Wordsworth (Albert Herring) and her debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden as Flowermaiden (Parsifal) with Bernard Haitink.

This season's engagements include a return to the Glyndebourne Festival, Susanna in Santiago di Chile and Tytania (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

In concert, recent engagements have included Lucia (The Rape of Lucretia) at the Vienna Konzerthaus and at the Cologne Philharmonie; Schumann’s ‘Das Paradies und die Peri’ with the Swedish Radio Orchestra, Bach Masses on tour with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Gustav Leonhardt and ‘Peer Gynt’ with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Stéphane Denève. She has sung ‘Solomon’ with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and René Jacobs in Paris, London and New York; Brahms’ ‘Requiem’ at The Sage, Gateshead with the Northern Sinfonia; and ‘Messiah’ with the RIAS Kammerchor.

In recital she has appeared at London’s Wigmore Hall, at the Innsbruck Festival, at the Bath Mozart Festival and in Spain with Roger Vignoles. She has also performed at the Oxford Lieder Festival with Malcolm Martineau and in Santiago de Compostela with Roger Vignoles.
