Louis Langrée

The French musician Louis Langrée has been Music Director of the Mostly Mozart Festival in New York since December 2002 and his first five festivals have been marked with extensive critical acclaim. During the 2007/8 season he will make his debut with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Rome Santa Cecilia Orchestra and Mozarteum Orchestra at the Mozartwoche in Salzburg, in addition to return visits to the Houston and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestras and Concerto Köln. During this season he will also conduct for the first time at the Metropolitan Opera in New York with Gluck’s Iphigénie en Tauride and at the Aix-en-Provence Festival with Mozart’s Zaide.

Louis Langrée was Music Director of Glyndebourne Touring Opera for five years. He works regularly at Glyndebourne Festival Opera where he has conducted the Mozart Da Ponte Operas with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Idomeneo and Fidelio with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. He has also conducted at the Grand Théâtre in Geneva, Bastille and Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Staatsoper in Dresden and the Netherlands Opera in Amsterdam.
