Heidi Grant Murphy

Soprano Heidi Grant Murphy was a winner of the 1988 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Since that time she has since sung many major roles with the Metropolitan Opera, including Nanetta, Servilia, Susanna, Pamina and Sophie with James Levine. She has built up a substantial concert career throughout America including the Boston Symphony with Seiji Ozawa, the Los Angeles Philharmonic with Sir Simon Rattle, the New York Philharmonic with Kurt Masur and the Houston Symphony with Christoph Eschenbach. In Europe she has appeared at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and the Paris Opera and in concert with the Vienna Philharmonic under Ozawa, the Philharmonia Orchestra under Levine and Dutoit, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields under Sir Neville Marriner, the Munich Philharmonic under Levine and the Orchestre de Paris under Eschenbach. She made her BBC Proms debut in Rameau’s ‘Les Boreades’ with Rattle.
