Geraldine McGreevy
With an established reputation as a recitalist and recording artist, Geraldine McGreevy is now establishing herself as an important operatic artist. Recent engagements include her debuts at the Frankfurt Opera as Ellen Orford, at the Monnaie, Brussels (Ghita in Zemlinsky’s “Der Zwerg”) and at the Komische Oper, Berlin as Alcina, the Infanta (‘Der Zwerg’), Marie (“Wozzeck”), Gluck’s “Iphigenie en Tauride” and the Marschallin. She has sung Freia (“Das Rheingold”) with Sir Simon Rattle at the BBC Proms, Gerhilde (“Die Walkure”) for the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden under Antonio Pappano and Chrysothemis (“Elektra”) with Edo De Waart and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Future engagements include her return to the Komische Oper, Berlin for both the Marschallin and Iphigenie, her return to the Royal Opera for “Die Walküre”, and her debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich as Giunone “La Calisto”.
