European Brandenburg Ensemble with Trevor Pinnock

As a celebration of his 60th birthday in 2006, Trevor Pinnock is assembling a group of the world's finest period instrument practitioners to perform, tour and record Bach's Brandenburg Concertos, repertoire with which Pinnock scored a major success with his best-selling 1981 recording. The musicians are drawn from some of the world’s premiere period instrument ensembles including the English Concert, King’s Consort, Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Academy of Ancient Music. Trevor Pinnock and The European Brandenburg Ensemble will launch his birthday year with concerts in the UK and subsequent visits to the Far East and throughout Europe in 2007. In addition, a historic new recording and DVD will be issued on the pioneering Avie label.
