David Kuebler

David Kuebler graduated from Elmhurst College with a degree in English Literature. In 1986 he received an honorary Doctorate of Music from this College. He is known for his wide variety of roles in operas by Mozart, Rossini, Smetana, Janacek, Richard Strauss, Berg, Wagner, Henze and Zemlinsky with major European and American opera companies, including the Vienna State Opera, La Scala Milan, Opera National de Paris, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Cologne Opera, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, Zurich Opera and the festivals of Glyndebourne, Salzburg, Bayreuth, Edinburgh, Bregenz, Schwetzingen, Lucerne, Prague and Pesaro as well as the San Francisco Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera and the Metropolitan Opera.

He has worked with conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Daniel Barenboim, Sylvain Cambreling, Andrew Davis, John Eliot Gardiner, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Michael Gielen, Bernard Haitink, James Levine, Seiji Ozawa, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Donald Runnicles, Leonard Slatkin and Georg Solti. His recording include Zemlinsky's DER ZWERG and TRAUMGÖRGE both under James Conlon for EMI.

Future engagements include DER ZWERG in Barcelona, Andres/WOZZECK in Paris, Vitek/VEC MAKROPULOS in Paris, Milan and Madrid, Arbace/IDOMENEO in Paris and DIE TRAUMGOERGE in Berlin.
