David Hansen
David Hansen made his European debut in 2004 in Aix-en-Provence as the Spirit (Dido & Aeneas). He made his UK debut with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra under Emmanuelle Haim and sang Handel’s 'Fernando' with Alan Curtis in Spoleto. He has also recorded Purcell Odes with Stephen Cleobury for EMI Classics. His recent engagements include Handel's Poro at the Göttingen Handel Festival, Theodora with Rene Jacobs at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, Tolomeo in Guilio Cesare with Den Norske Opera and Trinculo in The Tempest in Santa Fe. Future engagements include Nerone (Poppea) for Victorian Opera and Athamas (Semele) in Brussels. He made his debut with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Sir Simon Rattle and sang the title-role of Solomon with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Rene Jacobs in Paris, London and New York. Future concerts include the Britten Canticles in Vienna and Trinculo in Amsterdam.
