Colin Lee
Since his professional début in October 2000 South African-born tenor, Colin Lee, has rapidly established himself as one of Britain’s leading young tenors. He has a particular affinity with the bel canto repertoire, having taken part in several recordings for Opera Rara. Last season he sang Tonio (La Fille du Régiment) with the Royal Opera, made his début at the Opéra National de Paris, as Léopold La Juive and returned to Garsington for James V in Rossini’s La donna del Lago. This season he sings Don Ramiro La Cenerentola with Welsh National Opera, Le Comte Ory in Athens and Elvino La Sonnambula in Antwerp. Future engagements include, Almaviva for Welsh National Opera and the Vienna State Opera and Tonio, Almaviva and Narciso Il Turco in Italia for the Royal Opera, Covent Garden.
