Ailyn Perez
Askonas Holt is delighted to announce the European representation of soprano Ailyn Perez de Costello. Ailyn Pérez’s “inner radiance combined with vocal luster” has made her one of the most promising and exciting young artists today. She won Second Prize in the 2006 Operalia Competition in Valencia, Spain, and the George London Award in the 2006 George London Foundation Competition. Ms. Pérez recently appeared as Marzelline in Fidelio with Opera Company of Philadelphia and at the Salzburg Festival singing Juliette in Roméo et Juliette. Also in the summer of 2008, she bowed as the Four Heroines in The Tales of Hoffmann with Opera Theatre of St. Louis. Prior to this engagement, she appeared as the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro with the Salzburg Festival on tour to Japan.
Ms Perez de Costello has won awards for both her operatic singing and recital performances. She is a 2007 winner of the Shoshana Foundation Career. In 2005 she placed second the Loren L.Zachary Competition, received an encouragement award from Opera Index and was awarded second place from the Licia Albanese Puccini Foundation in 2004.
