This Week at Askonas Holt

Pieter Wispelwey performs chamber concerts in Margreid and Wattens.

Giovanni Antonini conducts the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen at the Philharmonie Cologne. His programme comprises Schubert Symphony No.1, Rossini Arias (soloist: Maite Beaumont) and Schubert Rosamunde Music.

John Williams gives a solo recital at the Newbury Corn Exchange, as part of the Newbury Spring Festival.

Robin Ticciati conducts the Orchestra Sinfonica dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in a programme to include Dukas, Rota, Debussy and Shostakovitch at the Santa Cecilia Auditorium. He will then travel to Bamberg and conduct the Bamberger Symphoniker in a programme to include Lindberg, Brahms and Dvorak at the Sinfonie an der Regnitz, Bamberg.

Thomas Zehetmair conducts the Northern Sinfonia at the Sage, Gateshead. His programme includes Mozart Marriage of Figaro Overture, Britten Les Illuminations (soloist: Sandrine Piau), In Memoriam Dennis Brain, Movements for a Clarinet Concerto (soloist: Michael Collins) and Mozart Symphony No. 40 in G minor.

David Atherton conducts the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in a programme including Vaughan Williams Symphony No. 2.

Peter Donohoe plays a solo recital at the University of York.

Alexander Briger conducts the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in a programme including Dvorak's Seventh Symphony.

Cedric Tiberghien performs a solo recital as part of the Melle Festival, Germany. Then he performs a concert at the Chatelet Theatre Paris where he will be perfoming Brahms Requiem for 4 hands.

Sarah Connolly and Janice Watson perform Octavian and the Feldmarschallin in English National Opera's production of 'Der Rosenkavalier'.

Kirill Gerstein performs Ravel Piano Concerto with the Gurzenich-Orchester at the Philharmonie Cologne.

Myung-Whun Chung conducts the Staatskapelle Dresdenin a tour to the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Budapest Palace of Arts, Musikverein Vienna, Halle aux Grains, Toulouse, Auditorium de Lyon, Theatre de Champs-Elysees, Paris and the Palais des Beaux Arts, Brussels, with soloist Lars Vogt.

Susan Gritton performs Vaughan Williams Symphonies 1 and 7 with the Philharmonia in London and Leicester, and Mahler Symphony No. 2 in Brighton.

Christopher Maltman and Graham Johnston give a Schubert recital in the Klavier Festival Ruhr.

Lisa Milne performs Brahms German Requiem with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra in Rotterdam and Basel.

Gustavo Dudamel conducts Mahler Symphony No.3 with the Orchestra Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome with soloist Michelle DeYoung.

Ceri Williams performs the role of Dritte Dame in Die Zauberflote with the National Reisoper in the Netherlands.

Leonard Slatkin conducts the Orquesta Sinfonica de Barcelona in a programme to include works by Haydn, Barber and Berlioz.

Ida Falk Winland performs Strauss Leider in a concert in London's Cadogan Hall.
