Spring Dance at the London ColiseumAn exciting new 5 year old collaboration between Askonas Holt, Raymond Gubbay Limited and Sadler's Wells Theatre will bring four of the finest dance companies in the world to one of the most prestigious stages in the world, the London Coliseum.
The 2008 programme begins in the starriest possible manner with the long-awaited return of New York City Ballet, not seen in the capital since 1983, to perform two weeks of mixed repertoire that shows them at their brilliant best: Balanchine, Robbins, Wheeldon and Martins.
Acclaimed worldwide for their stylistic range and artistic excellence, the Stuttgart Ballet will then perform one of their most famous works, John Cranko's classic production of "Romeo and Juliet" at the Coliseum, after not appearing in London for than 25 years.
In April, the 2008 Spring Dance season concludes with more intimate works, featuring two of the greatest stars of the ballet world, Carlos Acosta and Sylvie Guillem. Acosta restages his Olivier Award-winning production featuring friends from the Royal Ballet, whilst Guillem revives the multi-award-winning 'Push' in partnership with choreographer/dancer Russell Maliphant.
