Ludovic Morlot and Seattle Symphony have scooped up another GRAMMY, hot on the heals of winning ‘Best Contemporary Classical Composition’ in 2015 for John Luther Adams’ ‘Become Ocean’. This year, their recent Dutilleux release was nominated in three categories, finally winning ‘Best Classical Instumental Solo’, for Augustin Hadelich’s performance of the Violin Concerto, ‘L’Arbre Des Songes’.
Isabel Leonard adds a second GRAMMY Award for ‘Best Opera Recording’ to her growing collection! Having already won a GRAMMY for her performance as Miranda in Thomas Adès’ ‘The Tempest’ (winner of ‘Best Opera Recording’ in 2013), Isabel takes home another this year for her performance as the titular child in Ravel’s ‘L’Enfant et les Sortilèges’. The disc, which also features tenor Jean-Paul Fouchécourt, was recorded live at the Saito Kinen Festival and is conducted by Seiji Ozawa.
