Enrique Mazzola returns to Glyndebourne this Sunday to conduct the opening performance of Rossini’s ‘Il barbiere di Siviglia’, in a new production from director Annabel Arden.
‘Il barbiere di Siviglia’ is one of Rossini’s most popular comedies, and this new production features a raft of highly acclaimed artists, including: Danielle de Niese as the crafty Rosina, Alessandro Corbelli as Dr Bartolo, Taylor Stayton as Count Almaviva, and Björn Bürger as Figaro.
Performances take place from 22 May to 17 July
, with a further performance at the BBC Proms on 25 July
, marking Enrique’s debut at the festival.
