Duncan Rock makes his Metropolitan Opera debut as Schaunard in ‘La bohème’



Duncan Rock makes an anticipated debut with the Metropolitan Opera this month, singing Schaunard in Franco Zeffirelli’s much loved classic production of La bohème.

Having previously appeared in New York as Donald in Billy Budd with Glyndebourne at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Duncan has also had success in the U.S. as Billy Bigelow in Carousel for the Houston Grand Opera and in the title role of Don Giovanni for the Boston Lyric Opera, and we wish him every success for his debut at the Met.

Duncan shares the Met stage with a number of other Askonas Holt artists, also appearing in La bohèmeAnita Hartig sings Mimi during the run, Dmytro Popov sings Rodolfo while David Soar and Matthew Rose share the role of Colline.

Duncan sings Schaunard on 2, 6, 9, 14, 19, 23 and 27 October and on 4 November. More information here. Later this season, he returns to the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden where he will sing the same role in Richard Jones’ new production.
