Dmytro’s debut at the Metropolitan Opera



Next week, Dmytro Popov makes his long-awaited Metropolitan Opera debut as Rodolfo in one of Puccini’s best known and most loved operas, ‘La bohème’. Conducted by Carlo Rizzi in the Met’s spectacular Franco Zeffirelli production, Dmytro is joined on stage by Ailyn Pérez, making her house role debut as Mimì. Rodion Pogossov returns to the Met for this production as Schaunard. The Met company premiere was in November 1900. See a selection of production images here.
As a preview for these upcoming performances Ailyn Peréz stars in The Metropolitan Opera’s 2016/17 season campaign, titled The Voice Must Be Heard, in which she sings a segment from Mimì’s aria “Addio…D’onde Lieta Usci”. The commercial will be broadcast on TV stations NBC, CBS, ABC and NY1 throughout the season, and can also be viewed on YouTube.
