Christopher Maltman, Dorothea Röschmann and Albina Shagimuratova star in ‘Don Giovanni’ at the Royal Opera House



This Friday night sees the opening of Kasper Holten’s mesmerizing production of Mozart’s tragicomedy, Don Giovanni at the Royal Opera House. 
Alain Altinoglu leads a world-class cast including three Askonas Holt artists in the title roles. Christopher Maltman sings The Don, a role he has performed countless times on stages across the world and in Kasper Holten’s film Juan (for which he also provided the English translation of the libretto). After her triumphant success in 2013 as Queen of the Night  in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Russian soprano Albina Shagimuratova returns to Covent Garden to sing Donna Anna. Dorothea Röschmann joins the all-star cast to perform her first Donna Elvira on the Royal Opera House stage. 
Their colleagues include Alex Esposito as Leporello and Rolando Villazón as Don Ottavio.
The first performance is on Friday 12 June at 19:00, with subsequent performances:
