Christina Gansch & Dovlet Nurgeldiyev make role debuts in ‘Die Zauberflöte’



This week, Christina Gansch and Dovlet Nurgeldiyev make role debuts as Pamina and Tamino in a new production of ‘Die Zauberflöte’ at Staatsoper Hamburg. They are joined on stage by Nadezhda Karyazina in the role of Second Lady.
Christina joins the Staatsoper’s ensemble for the 2016/17 season, having completed two years in the opera’s studio programme. In addition to her first Pamina, Christina will also sing the title role in a new production of Handel’s ‘Almira’, as well as Constance in ‘Dialogues des Carmélites’ (also with Dovlet Nurgeldiyev) and Gretel in ‘Hänsel und Gretel’. Elsewhere this season, Christina also makes her debut with the Opéra National de Paris (January 2017), and she will return to the Salzburg Festival.
Dovlet – a member of the ensemble in Hamburg since 2010 – will make two major role debuts this season; as Tamino in this production of ‘Die Zauberflöte’, and as Edgardo in ‘Lucia di Lammermoor’. Other upcoming roles include Nemorino in ‘L’elisir d’amore’, Chevalier de Force in ‘Dialogues des Carmelites’, Belmonte in ‘Entführung aus dem Serail’.
Nadezhda continues her collaboration with the Staatsoper Hamburg as Second Lady in ‘Die Zauberflöte’. Later this season, she will sing ‘Rigoletto’, ‘Le nozze di Figaro’ and ‘Madama Butterly’.
