Cédric Tiberghien begins his Wigmore Hall Bartok focus

Cédric Tiberghien begins his Bartok focus at London’s Wigmore Hall.

Next week he will give the first of two solo recitals, featuring key works from Bartok’s solo piano repertoire including the folk-inspired Bagatelles and Burlesques and the final section of Mikrokosmos, interspersed with Boulez’ Notations.
Cédric returns to Wigmore Hall later in the season with a chamber ensemble for a programme of Bartok, Kurtag and Ligeti,  and with a second solo recital in May, this time combining Bartok with Kurtág’s Játékok.

This season also sees the release of Cédric’s 3-volume Bartok recording project on Hyperion which as well as featuring solo piano works, includes the sonata for two pianos and percussion for which he is joined by François Frédéric Guy, Colin Currie and Sam Walton.
