Blissful Bach in Dallas

Jennifer Johnston’s ‘majestic sound’ thrills audiences in Dallas.

Many congratulations to mezzo Jennifer Johnston who has finished a series of 3 concerts with Dallas Symphony Orchestra & Chorus performing Bach’s sacred masterpiece, the St. Matthew Passion.

Jennifer sang alongside Johannes Chum (Evangelist) and Morgan Smith (Christus) with soloists Camilla Tilling, John McVeigh and Alastair Miles. The concert was conducted by the orchestra’s music director, Jaap van Zweden.

“Alto Jennifer Johnston’s serene, majestic sound and fine taste were in evidence all evening, particularly in “Aus Liebe will mein Heiland sterben.” (www.bachtrack.com)
