Bernard Labadie returns to the stage with Les Violons du Roy

Congratulations to Bernard Labadie, the founding conductor of Les Violons du Roy who will today return to the stage with the orchestra to conduct sold out performances of Mozart’s Mass in C Minor and Requiem in D Minor in Quebec and Montreal.
Joining Bernard on stage are two Askonas Holt singers, Lydia Teuscher and BBC New Generation Artist Benjamin Appl, who is making his debut with the orchestra. Lydia performs regularly with Bernard Labadie and will be joining him again – alongside fellow Askonas Holt singer Neal Davies – in May this year for performances of Haydn’s ‘Creation’ with the Sydney Symphony.
Later this month Bernard will join the orchestra again, performing his own Bach transcriptions. In March, La Chapelle de Québec and Les Violons du Roy join forces after more than 15 years to perform the St Matthew Passion. Joined again by a superb cast including Askonas Holt singers Andrew Staples, John Mark Ainsley and Neal Davies.
Performance dates
· Mozart Mass and Requiem: 10, 11 and 12 February
· Bach transcriptions: 25 and 26 February
· St Matthew Passion: 9, 10 and 12 March
· Haydn ‘Creation’: 11, 13, 14 and 16 May
