Bernard Haitink will return to the LSO this week joined by Murray Perahia to conduct the opening concert of the orchestra’s 2015/16 season at the Barbican Centre. Renowned for his interpretations of Bruckner’s symphonies, Bernard Haitink will conduct the seventh symphony paired in the first half with Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24. This concert marks the start of a mini-series of three sold-out concerts at the Barbican which combine great symphonies with Mozart and Beethoven Piano Concertos performed by Murray Perahia and Imogen Cooper who will make her debut with Haitink.

Bernard Haitink will then lead the orchestra on a tour of Japan joined by Murray Perahia. In just over a week he will conduct five concerts in three cities, Tokyo, Kyoto and Kawasaki.
