Daniil Shtoda has been described as a 'wunderkind' with comparisons to Gedda, Wunderlich and other noted lyric tenors of the past.
Daniil has already established a remarkable career singing at internationally renowned venues and festivals such as Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Metropolitan Opera New York, Edinburgh Festival, Bayerische Staatsoper, Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Washington Opera, Theatre du Capitole Toulouse, Opera de Lyon, Opera Comique and Chatelet Theatre Paris, New National Theatre Tokyo, Canadian Opera Toronto, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Los Angeles Opera, Teatro Carlo Felice Genoa, Opera de Lausanne, Istanbul Festival, Prague Opera, Oper Köln and Leipzig Opera.
He has recorded for EMI Classics and Deutsche Grammophon, and his latest recording of Rachmaninoff songs accompanied by Iain Burnside has been released on the Delphian label.
This season, Daniil continues as a main principal at the Mariinsky Theatre, where this season his roles will include Tamino Die Zauberflöte, Il conte di Libenskof Il viaggio a Reims, Count Almaviva Il baribiere di Siviglia and Lysander A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He will also continue to give recitals and concerts in Russia and internationally.
