Alexander Tsymbalyuk
Introduction
Born in 1976, the Ukrainian bass gained a master’s degree in vocal performance at the Odessa Conservatory in 2003. His teachers were amongst others: Paata Burchuladze, Prof. Kurt Moll, KS Thomas Moser and Veriano Luchetti.
This season his engagements will include his role debut as Boris Godunov at Bayerische Staatsoper Munich with Kent Nagano, directed by Calixto Bieito, returns to the Metropolitan Opera New York as Ludovico in Otello, Teatro alla Scala Milan for Sparafucile in Rigoletto Fafner in Siegfried and Das Rheingold and Commendatore in Don Giovanni on tour at the Bolshoi Theater Moscow, with Daniel Barenboim and Don Carlo with Zubin Mehta at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
Looking ahead Alexander will make his company debuts at Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Verdi Requiem with the RAI Turino Orchestra, as well as returns to Teatro alla Scala, Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, and, of course, to the Hamburg State Opera as Sparafucile in Rigoletto, Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor and Basilio in Il Babiere di Siviglia.
Alexander has very successfully worked with conductors including Zubin Metha, Riccardo Muti, Daniel Barnboim, Sir Colin Davis, Antonio Pappano, Marco Armiliato, Gustavo Dudamel and Simone Young.
