Tómas Tómasson
Introduction
Askonas Holt is delighted to announce the general management of Icelandic baritone Tómas Tómasson following his success as Don Pizarro in Fidelio at the Houston Grand Opera alongside Karita Matilla and Simon O’Neill in November 2011.
Tómas is a dramatic baritone and sings roles such as Telramund in Lohengrin, Don Pizarro, Jochanaan in Salome, Hollaender, and Klingsor in Parsifal.
Engagements in 2012 and beyond include Mazeppa in Monte Carlo, Jochanaan at the Zurich Opera, Kurwenal in Tristan und Isolde at the Toulouse Opera, Telramund in the new Lohengrin at La Scala conducted by Barenboim as well as with the Teatro Real Madrid and Monnaie, Klingsor at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and in the new production at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin conducted by Barenboim, Wanderer in Siegfried at the Geneva Opera and Tomsky in Pique Dame at the Vienna State Opera, to name a few.
