Adam Plachetka
Introduction
Adam has also appeared as Don Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) at the Prague State Opera. Adam is a regular guest artist of the Salzburger Festspiele (Benvenuto Cellini, Rusalka, Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni). Other engagements include Ping (Turandot) and Argante for the Seoul Arts Center, Hajný (Rusalka) for Opéra de Nice, Sylvano (La Calisto) at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Nardo for the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Bruxelles, Masetto (Don Giovanni) at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Guglielmo at the Festpielhaus Baden-Baden and Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) for Opéra Comédie Montpellier. In September 2010 Adam Plachetka became a member of the Ensemble of the Wiener Staatsoper. After his debut as Schaunard (La bohéme), he moved on to roles such as Don Basilio, Melisso (Alcina), Masetto (Don Giovanni), Don Giovanni, Dulcamara (L'elisir d'amore), Figaro, Guglielmo and Publio (La clemenza di Tito). Adam has worked with conductors including Alain Altinoglu, Marco Armiliato, Bruno Campanella, Alessandro De Marchi, John Fiore, Asher Fisch, Valery Gergiev, Friedrich Haider, Daniel Harding, Jakub Hrůša, Patrick Lange, Louis Langrée, Marc Minkowski, John Nelson, Tomáš Netopil, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Robin Ticciati or Franz Welser-Möst.
