Mikhail Kolelishvili

Introduction

Russian bass, Mikhail Kolelishvili , graduated from the Tbilisi State Saradzhishvili Conservatoire in 2001.

He was a soloist of the the Paliashvili Opera and Ballet Theatre in Tbilisi from 1997 onwards, At the Mariinsky theatre he started as a soloist of the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers in 2002 and joined the Mariinsky Opera Company in 2009.

Under the Flag of the Mariinsky Opera Company, Mikhail Kolelishvili has taken part in the Moscow Easter Festival and the Stars of the White Nights International Arts Festival (St Petersburg); he has also toured to Paris, Baden-Baden and Mikkeli.

In 2005, he was a finalist in the BBC Cardiff Singers of the World International Competition has won prizes at the Stanislaw Moniuszko International Vocalists’ Competition (Warsaw, 2004), III International Elena Obraztsova Competition (St Petersburg, 2003) , I Republican Young Performers’ Competition (Tbilisi, 1999) and received a diploma and special “audience choice” prize recipient at the V International Rimsky-Korsakov Young Opera Singers’ Competition (St Petersburg, 2002)
