    Wiener staatsoper, Vienna
    More info

“The French baritone’s vocal prowess and technique are extraordinary – scaling the awkward (essentially tenor) tessitura without a hint of strain and drawing upon reserves which unfailingly impact, emotionally and dramatically.”

Moore Parker, Opera Critic, 31 March 2017

  • 05 Mar 17 VERDI SImon Boccanegra
    Monte Carlo Opera
    More info

Emmanuel Andrieu, Opera Online, March 2017

Sebastien Herbecq, Bach Track, 6 March 2017

  • 05 Feb 17 VERDI Il Trovatore
    Wiener Staatsoper, Vienna
    More info

“Ludovic Tézier ideally embodied the stiff and unsympathetic Luna – subtly understated in certain outbursts, but eloquent and noble in his big moments, and spanning Verdi’s grand lines with aplomb. “Il balen del suo sorriso” deservedly received the first frenetic ovation of the evening.”

Moore Parker, The Opera Critic, 9 February 2017

  • 10 Oct 16 VERDI Macbeth
    Liceu Opera, Barcelona
    More info

    Jean-Marcel Humbert, Forum Opera, 16 October 2016

“…in the aria ‘Pietà, rispetto, amore’, where he was at his best.”

José M. Irurzun, Seen and Heard, 13 October 2016

  • 04 Jul 16 Bellini I puritani
    Teatro Real Madrid
    More info

Jorge Binaghi, Opera Online, 11 July 2016

  • 07 Apr 16 DONIZETTI Lucia di Lammermoor
    Royal Opera House, Covent Garden
    More info

“Ludovic Tézier, as Enrico, was terrific – sonorous, authoritative and evil.”
    Russ McDonald, Opera, June 2016

“Some of the best singing of the night came from Ludovic Tézier as Enrico; his baritone is strong but he uses it with subtlety.”
Claire Seymour, Opera Today, 15 April 2016

“The cheers for the cast (the first of two) were long and loud…eloquent contributions from Ludovic Tézier (burly and powerful as Enrico)…”
Fiona Maddocks, The Observer, 10 April 2016

  • 31 Jan 16 VERDI Il Trovatore
    Opéra de Paris
    More info

“But what singers!…Tézier are optimum casting for… Luna today…”
Hugh Canning, The Sunday Times, 7 February 2016

“The real interest was elsewhere, in a quartet of singers most opera houses dream of bringing together…Ludovic Tézier’s Luna showed the French baritone at the height of his vocal powers. Quite how he manages to maintain such powerful, charcoal tone with no trace of excessive vibrato at this stage of his career is a mystery.”
Francis Carlin, Opera Now, March 2016

“Ludovic Tézier, all velvet and steel, was fabulous in his debut as Di Luna, again proving that he is one of today’s best Verdi baritone; his ‘Il balen’, the high point of the evening, was duly greeted with an ovation.”
    Nicolas Blanmont, Opera May 2016

  • 17 Nov 15 VERDI Rigoletto
    Theatre du Capitole
    More info

David Verdier, Res Musica, 27 November 2015

Maurice Salles, Forum Opera, 17 November 2015

  • 02 Oct 15 VERDI Aida
    Warner Classics
    More info

“This starry set of Verdi’s monumental grand opera is the first audio recording since Nikolaus Harnoncourt’s (also on Warner), made with a mostly Bohème-weight cast almost 15 years ago. Pappano’s orchestra weave magical sound spells…Ludovic Tézier (Amonasro)… make vital contributions to a version unmissable for Pappano’s expansive, poetic yet tautly dramatic conducting.”

Hugh Canning, The Sunday Times, 4 October 2015

  • 01 Aug 15 DONIZETTI La Favorite
    Opus Arte DVD
    More info

“In the person and voice of Ludovic Tézier, currently at the peak of his mature prime, King Alphonse becomes a troublingly seductive figure; his singing of ‘Viens, Léonor’ and ‘Pour tant d’amour’ bears comparisons with the histroical greats of the Favorite discography in its smoothness of line and subtle variation of tone colours.”
    Max Loppert, Opera, August 2015

  • 01 Aug 15 VERDI Don Carlo
    Opus Arte DVD

“Even better is Ludovic’s Tézier’s urbane, powerfully resonant Posa…”
    George Loomis, Opera, August 2015
