Introduction

Austrian soprano Christina Gansch is a graduate of Salzburg’s Mozarteum and the Royal Academy of Music and is the winner of the 2014 Kathleen Ferrier Award.

Highlights in her 2017/18 season include Mélisande in a new production of Pelléas et Mélisande for the Glyndebourne Festival; Marzelline in a new production of Fidelio for the Hamburgische Staatsoper; Servilia La clemenza di Tito for the Opéra national de Paris and Papagena Die Zauberflöte for her debut with the Royal Opera, Covent Garden.

Previous engagements have included Servilia at the Salzburger Festspiele and for the Opéra national de Montpellier; Papagena for the Opéra national de Paris; Pamina Die Zauberflöte, the title role in Handel’s Almira and Gretel Hänsel und Gretel for the Hamburgische Staatsoper and Waldvogel Siegfried at the Deutsche Staatsoper under Barenboim.

Her concert appearances include the Dresdner Festspielorchester with Ivor Bolton, the Göteborgs Symfoniker with Simone Young, Concerto Köln and the Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg with Kent Nagano and MusicaAeterna with Teodor Currentzis.
