Arcangelo triumph in New York debut

Under the direction of Jonathan Cohen, Arcangelo made their New York debut at Zankel Hall on Monday 18 November 2013. Their performance has already been given a hugely complimentary review in the New York Times, in which Askonas Holt’s Alina Ibragimova was also highly praised for her solo contribution. This performance was the culmination of an annus mirabilis for Arcangelo: as well as taking Bach’s B minor Mass on tour to the Flanders Festival, Arcangelo have performed with fortepianist Kristian Bezuidenhout at the Tetbury Festival and have recently finished a recording with the pre-eminent British bass Matthew Rose; this is Arcangelo’s latest collaboration in a long line of successful recordings with some of the most renowned singers working today.
Jonathan will be returning to North America next month when he directs the St Paul Chamber Orchestra in performances of Handel’s Messiah
Askonas Holt would like to offer our congratulations to Jonathan, Alina and all the other soloists and players who have made Arcangelo’s performances this year so successful.
