Bravo to Anatoli Sivko who won first prize in the 2015 Neue Stimmen competition on Saturday at the final concert in Gütersloh, Germany. Anatoli sang “Vi ravviso, o luoghi ameni” from Bellini’s La sonnambula and “Ni sna, ni otdikha” from Borodin’s Fürst Igor, delighting the audience and jury alike with his perceptive and engaging interpretations of these arias.
This latest success comes at the beginning of a wonderful season for him, which will see him appear at the Bayerische Staatsoper Munich as Graf Ribbing in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera and at the Netherlands Opera as Narumov in Tchaikovsky’s La pique dame. Future engagements include appearances at the Frankfurt Opera, the Liceu Barcelona and at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
The Neue Stimmen competition began in 1987 and since then it has grown into an internationally acclaimed competition, which seeks to discover the most promising opera talent from all over the world whilst also nurturing and preparing the winners for successful global careers.
