Alexander Shelley to conduct DSO Berlin in spectacular New Year’s concerts



Alexander Shelley will conduct the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin in a series of spectacular New Year’s concerts as the orchestra renews its ten year relationship with the Circus Roncalli. The concert will feature acrobats, magicians and stuntmen performing to pieces such as Dukas’ ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’, Fucik’s ‘Entry of the Gladiators’ and a selection of arias sung by baritone Luca Pisaroni. The concerts will take place on 31 December and 1 January at the Tempodrom in Berlin.
Alexander Shelley will also conduct a series of New Year’s concerts with the Nuremberg Symphony, of whom he is Chief Conductor (performances on 3, 5 & 6 January), and in January he will resume his activities as Music Director of Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa and Principal Associate Conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London.
