Alexander Gavrylyuk & Alexander Shelley with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra

This week Alexander Gavrylyuk takes to the stage at the Gothenburg Konserthus and Stockholm Konserthus for two performances of Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.3 with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Alexander Shelley.
Gavrylyuk’s performances with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra follow on from his hugely successful weeks with the Ulster Orchestra with Rafael Payare, as well as the Hallé Orchestra with immediate re-engagement. This season he will also be performing in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and across Europe, including the UK where he will appear at Wigmore Hall in April.
Alexander Shelley has had a very busy start to the season combining his Music Directorship of Ottawa’s National Arts Centre Orchestra with his new role as Principal Associate Conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London. Alongside these considerable commitments he has debuted with the Oslo Philharmonic, Czech Philharmonic, Salzburg Camerata and returns to the DSO Berlin and Leipzig Gewandhaus. Read more about Alexander’s upcoming engagements in this interview with Emma Baker.
Concert takes place on 2 and 3 March, with Wednesday’s concert broadcast live on Sveriges Radio
