Ainars Rubikis makes debuts with the Residentie Orkest and Queensland Symphony Orchestra

Ainars Rubikis makes his debut with the Residentie Orkest on 11 March, with Rachmaninov’s Symphony No.2 and Korngold’s Violin Concerto, performed by violinist Liza Ferschtman. The concert also features ‘Eline’ – a nocturne for orchestra by Dutch composer Alexander Voormolen.
Later this month Ainars travels to Australia, to conduct Mozart’s ‘Requiem’ with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, his debut with the orchestra. Featuring soloists Nicole Car, Deborah Humble, Kang Wang and Christopher Richardson, the concert also includes much loved Mozart concert arias such as ‘Ombra felice/Io ti lascio’.
During the 2015/16 season Ainars Rubikis returns to Poznan Philharmonic, Queensland Symphony, St Petersburg Philharmonic, Orchestre Nationale d’Ile de France and Orquesta de Euskadi with the Malandain Ballet Biarritz. Further debuts include with Bolshoi Theatre in a production of Boris Godunov. Future plans include debuts at Chicago Lyric and returns to the Bolshoi Theatre and Latvian National Opera.
