Aida Garifullina shines at the Vienna Opera Ball

Every year the Vienna State Opera is transformed into a ballroom for the Vienna Opera Ball; one of the most exclusive events and a true highlight of the Viennese social calendar.

Last night, Russian soprano Aida Garifullina took to the stage at the 59th ball, singing to over 5000 guests from the world of culture, business, politics, sports and science. Aida dazzled the crowd, performing Je veux vivre from Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet.

The past few months in Aida’s calendar have been incredibly exciting: Aida joined the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera in September 2014 and in addition to various acclaimed performances in Vienna she has given her UK debut at the Wigmore Hall, performed at the 10th Semperopernball in Dresden and signed an exclusive recording contract with Decca Classics, with her debut album to be released later this year.
