Aida Garifullina makes her Wiener Staatsoper debut

Aida Garifullina makes her debut at the Wiener Staatsoper singing Musetta in La bohème under the baton of Dan Ettinger, for two performances on 4 and 7 November – both of which will be broadcast live.
These performances will mark the start of her tenure in the Wiener Staatsoper ensemble. Her future performances this season in Vienna include the roles of Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Prinzessin Eudoxie (La Juive) and Clorinda (La Cenerentola).
Following her huge success in July 2014 as Natasha in Prokofiev’s War and Peace, which was broadcast live in cinemas, Aida will return to the Mariinsky Theatre to sing the role of The Queen of Shemakha in the The Golden Cockerel by Rimsky-Korsakov in December, also under Valery Gergiev.
She will then make her first recording for Decca in the New Year – so, exciting times ahead…
