A powerful Herodias from Jane Henschel

Jane Henschel has embarked on a busy March with two impressive performances of Herodias in Strauss’ Salome under the baton of Andris Nelsons, the first at New York’s Carnegie Hall with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, and subsequently at Boston’s Symphony Hall with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.  Described as “a wonderful Herodias” by the New York Times; she “brought power and presence to the role” Boston Globe.
Later this month, Jane appears as Klytemnestra in a Gala performance of Elektra at the Nationaltheater in Mannheim and she then goes on to perform the Fortune Teller in Arabella at the Salzburg Easter Festival.  Later this season she appears in Baden-Baden as Marthe in Faust and at the Saito Kinen Festival as Mistress Quickly in Falstaff.
